Our client is an international corporate group, with operations in 14 countries across Europe and the US. With 800 employees and products being sold in over 50 countries, they are recognised as a leader in their specialist sector.
The company now seeks a Tax Director to proactively co-ordinate the tax affairs of the worldwide group. Based in the group’s head office, and reporting to the CFO, key aspects of this wide ranging role include:
•Providing corporate tax advice to all businesses in the group, including tax input into transactional and M&A projects
•Ensuring all tax compliance obligations are met, covering both direct and indirect taxes
•Taking ownership and managing of transfer pricing and minimising tax risks and exposures
•Engaging with external tax advisers, when necessary, and managing relationships with tax authorities
To succeed in this role, the Tax Director will take a hands-on approach, be a self-starter, and be prepared to get into the detail of UK & European tax issues. This role requires a qualified accountant or tax adviser (ACA, ACCA or CTA) with substantial tax experience of advising multinational groups, and ideally with a proven track record as an in-house tax adviser. Strong pan European tax and transfer pricing planning experience will be an advantage, as will experience of managing tax systems and process for direct and indirect tax compliance.
In addition, you will have strong communication skills to build excellent relationships, both internally and externally with outsource providers. You will have gravitas, and able to communicate technical tax issues to senior management in a clear manner.
